I started writing when I was in the Navy, deep under water in a fast-attack submarine. I wasn’t doing too well mentally, and so I began writing some things down in my free time to try and work through the issues I was facing. I labeled my memoirs from that time as my Self-Help Book for Myself.

Since the Navy days, I’ve written several short stories, published a novel, a full-length music album that continues the story, and am currently working on expanding the prequel to my novel.

2100: Faith of the Machine

In the near future world of 2100: Faith of the Machine, sentient Artificial Intelligence benevolently presides. Humanity survives happily under AI’s care, sheltered in large cities dotted throughout the wasteland the world has become.

But routine comfort and complacency has grown stale for Jack, a long time resident of AI’s utopia. When he discovers pockets of human life outside of his own city, Jack must investigate.

Amongst primitive people who still chew their food and use devices external to their bodies to communicate, new concepts such as truth and reality are weighed.

Alongside an activist with a grudge against technology and a teenager with decades of memories, Jack must resist the call from the four horsemen of humanity’s apocalypse- comfort, complacency, ignorance, and blame.

2100: War for Sentience

Decades before the events of 2100: Faith of the Machine…

As the world continues to digitize, holding on to physicality has become negative. Appreciation of the beauty in nature, mechanical art, and craftsmanship are now nothing more than hobbies considered to be a nusiance.

In the 20s, 30s, and even 40s there was enough of an audience to sustain artisans, however these trades fell by the wayside in lieu of digital pursuits, both professional and hobbyist.

Children were taught computer languages because human translations can be done by machine.

People no longer interact at jobsites because all work can be accomplished from home.

Shopping malls, retail stores, and restaurants are all ancient ways of life.

And so during this conversion from humanity to efficiency, who tried to stop it? Did anyone care? Or were people who appreciated the natural world written off as anti-progressive has-beens?

Who led the resistance against this virtual world?

2100: War for Sentience is a work in progress. The story ties in with the music created by Virtual Anarchy.
