Virtual Anarchy

The music of Virtual Anarchy takes place in the near-future, when society has slipped even further into total technological dependence. The artist Zee battles with what he believes to be humanity’s greatest enemy: it’s own progress towards an ultimate goal pure convenience and comfort.

New World, the automated and virtual life that most people experience daily, is a lifestyle choice that Zee has been unable to make. Because of this, he exists only in the real world. The world where people used to appreciate the beauty of nature. The place where people used to interact at jobsites, shopping malls, and restaurant.

Although Zee lived through the largest and fastest technological development in human history, he now lives in constant regret that he was unable to stop the the mass conversion of humanity into efficiency.

Virtual Anarchy is his most genuine expression of inner conflict, and the music changes as he goes through several stages of character development.

Stage 1

Zee and his girlfriend/partner/soulmate Brie appear to be typical activist hippies. They protest people spending too much time with technology, and feel that there can be a balance between the two worlds, digital and real.

Obviously, no one really cares about their cause, as succumbing to the ease and pleasures of the digital world is enjoyable. Their acoustic music is not well received, and so they begin to make songs with a more mainstream sound.

Zee begins an underground radio broadcast in which he discusses his ideas, not knowing that both friends and foes listen in every week.

Digital Decay

There’s way too many things
That I see every day
My Brain is overwhelmed
I cannot get away

Digital Decay
Some things can’t  be saved
Give your thoughts away
Memories can be remade

Digital Decay
Soon this world will go away
Let it fade to gray
History can be remade

In data we all trust
By tech we live and Breathe
But when the lights go out
My mind just seems to freeze

Digital Decay
I’ve forgotten how to play
Love is just a game
when a screen is in the way

Digital decay
The whole metaverse is fake
You’ll never have a say
If you think life is in the way

But  I still love this world
I love humanity
And now we have the choice
Be trapped or instead be free

Digital Decay
To the next day
It’s fucked up that you pay
To give this world away

How Many Days

How many days must I waste
Looking at the same old shit?
It’s the same useless things
That bring me one step closer to the grave
Now I’m so far away
From the path of my life
From the people that I need that make me be alive
Connected instead, to something cold and dead

But it tells me what I want to hear
It shows me what I want to see
It makes me laugh, makes the time pass
And it makes me think that my life’s complete

Then I wonder why I feel so alone

Well cell phone I hope you die
I hope you fall on the ground
 And get kicked around
When your screen is cracked and your battery burns
My life will come back, that’s what I’ve learned
Yes, cell phone I hope you die

Metaverse Army

Freedom is taken, gtradually
Willingly exchanged for perceived safety
Vote with your wallet, elect with your fears
Get what you pay for, invading armies

Preaching imbalance as the norm
Gaslight rationality
The truth is so easy to hide
You just have to lie all the time

Lie about the real world
Lie about the real world
Lie about the real world now its true.

Give away all your freedoms
Give away identity
All because of a fear
An unfounded injected fear

You should have known
It’s not your fault

Stage 2

Upset over some disheartening and tragic events, Zee blames a heavy loss on rapid technological development, and it’s replacement of human interactions. He continues making music and the radio broadcast, and suggests more action is necessary instead of just discussion.

Songs:

  1. Augmented Ghosts

  2. Pre-Packaged Life Forms

  3. Doomscroll

  4. Neon Eyes

Augmented Ghosts

I walk among you
I see the real you
I observe your physicality
In my own reality

I'm a ghost in your world
A grey phantom of Earth

In New World untouched
You’re real but not by much
Simulated life’s not for me
But you take it eagerly

I'm a ghost in your world
A grey phantom of Earth

I'm so free...

The prison’s in your mind
Injected into your eye
The most beautiful place
Is right in front of you

A conscious decision
Remove your inner vision
Hidden beauty everywhere
Except where you are

Pre-Packed Life Forms

All our food
Comes inside a bag
Just some plastic trash
That helps us kill our world
Things sure would be different
If we didn’t have this shit
But it’s so Goddamn convenient
To just grab and go

Life must come in bite-sized servings
Never too much or too many at once

Clean yourself off
Make sure you’re really fresh
We know your expiration date
But the future’s never here
So plug into VR
Escape your fears forever
There’s no digital shelf life
Stay as long as you like

Help me live in comfort please
I don’t want to work too hard

Don’t tell me about a world of hardship
None of that’s my fault

When the New World comes
You won’t even have to move
We’ll get you everything you need
And we’ll take your calories
Sit back and relax
Please take it all from here
Of course it’s not your fault
We just want you to live in peace!

Doomscroll

An endless line of useless shit
Engineered to suck you in
Reading all your movements
Analyzing your thoughts

It beeps when you put it down
It beeps when you look around

Designed to kill your mind
Designed to kill your time

Time is all we have
Time is all we have

Social media
Is designed to kill you

Social media
Is designed to kill you

Neon Eyes

 We stare through neon
In our eyes
Blind to bombs shot
Through the sky

I remember
When your eyes died
The glow took over
To end your life

The obsolescent
Human mind
Can’t comprehend
This new world
Of neon eyes

Only neon remains
Only neon remains

Digital death’s in your veins
Your veins

Stage 2.5

After the assault at the end of Neon Eyes, Zee is tormented as his body and mind reject transition into the digital New World.

What I know

I saw an old picture of folks on a bus
All reading papers, pamphlets, or books
I guess they weren’t chummy or friendly that day
Maybe they just had nothing to say
But what do I know about pictures anyway?

I once saw a movie I thought it was fake
It showed people dying it showed a great war
And in all that fighting I couldn’t explain
Why it seemed so familiar inside of my brain
But what do I know about a movie anyway?

When I was much younger I wanted some friends
It seemed so nice to share a life and great times
But I never liked the right music
I never played the right sports
I’d rather be dead than spend my whole life bored
But what do I know about friends anyway?

Now when I’m walking all around town
Everyone’s looking at what they can’t put down
Wreck your car for text ignore your kids for a skit
Look at so much so fast that the real world’s shit
But why am I walking in this real world anyway?

Songs:

  1. What I know (transition)

  2. Transition Failed

Stage 3

The attack on Zee during Neon Eyes and the subsequent suffering he endures serves as a catalyst for a full rebellion. He becomes a complete outcast from society, with both music and actions becoming much more aggressive and divisive.

Cyberpunk’ed

War is coming veiled as nothing
Kill your time Log in online
Don't go outside If you want to stay alive
Isolate/divide/you’re dead inside

We won’t be replaced
By the beings of cyberspace
Mainstream’s given up
So now’s the time to give a fuck

We've all been Cyberpunked!

Wear your tech or Better yet inject
Life’s of no concern when there’s media to burn
Facebook TikTok CNN and Fox News
All designed to make me and you hate you

We won’t be replaced
By the beings of cyberspace
Mainstream’s given up
So now’s the time to give a fuck

We've all been Cyberpunked!

Songs:

  1. Cyperpunk’ed

  2. Speak Your Mind

  3. The Last Riot

  4. Meat

Speak Your Mind

Now I’ve got something to say
Who will I be today
Sometimes I never know
Which variant of me will show
Information Overload
Bright colors make my brain explode

Park your kids in front of a screen
So they don’t have to hear you scream
About what you should have done
And how much you want to run
If you lack ambition
Blame it all on an Orange Man
When you’re down on your luck
Blame it all on Bumble Fuck

 Fuck your opinion
Your apathy earns zero votes
When your time is lacking worth
Just post about your YouTube research
Life is all online
And there is no recourse for crying wolf
Humanity can not progress
With no consequence for being an idiot

Stick your head in the dirt
The less you know the more you’re
smart
Put up your feet, do what you’re told
Don’t resist grow nice and old

The Last Riot

I always wanted something to believe in
I always wanted something to die for
But I searched too high, I fell too low
I tried too hard, I grew to slow
I thought it was cool not to give a fuck
But when apathy thrives, that’s when innovation dies

Now I see it everywhere every goddamn day
The death of our species, given willingly
We always need some to sacrifice
To set the example so we know it’s not right
The herd’s growing faster taking thought away
So succumb to comfort because it’s okay

One last push for humanity
One last breath for what we believe
We exhale for truth that rattling note
Louder than 100,000 mindless votes

Fight with me in the Last Riot
For fuck’s sake just don’t be quiet
Raise your fist against the machine
And the digital world as it kills your dream

Meat

 You want implants
You want a new face
You want fake tits
You want a fake life

We’re just fucking meat!

Digital Relationships
Composed by text
Augmented people
and Virtual Sex

We’re just fucking meat!

You want your life hacked
You want perfect skin back
You want eternity
You don’t know what that means

We’re Just Fucking meat!

You can’t progress
When you’re stuck in the past
You can’t evolve
When you kiss corporates ass

We’re Just Fucking meat!
